ACCEPTANCE TESTING OF THE INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR POST-ACCIDENT MONITORING OF THE REACTOR FACILITY (I&C OF PAMS FOR ZNPP-1)

In October 2014, the acceptance testing of the instrumentation and control system for post-accident monitoring of the reactor facility (I&C of PAMS) and of the equipment monitoring the level in the reactor (ASKUT) for Unit 1 of Zaporizhzhya NPP was carried out at the testing ground of PJSC “SRPA “Impulse”.

The representatives of State Nuclear Safety Inspectorate at ZNPP, Zaporizhzhya NPP and PJSC “SRPA “Impulse” took part in the testing.

The I&C system of PAMS is designated to inform operating personnel on main safety parameters of the NPP unit to reduce risk of damage of the main technological equipment (in particular, the reactor core) and to limit growth of emergencies.

The positive results of the carried out testing confirmed that I&C of PAMS and ASKUT submitted meet the requirements of the requirements specification, as well as those of the normative and operational documents. The results of the acceptance testing confirmed readiness of I&C of PAMS to be supplied to Zaporizhzhya NPP.
