HANDOVER-ACCEPTANCE TESTING OF THE NEUTRON FLUX MONITORING SYSTEM FOR UNITS № 4, 5 OF ZAPORIZHZHYA NPP HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT

On 29-30 January 2018, the handover-acceptance testing of the neutron flux monitoring systems (AKNP-IF) for units № 4, 5 of Zaporizhzhya NPP was carried out at the site of PJSC “SRPA “Impulse”, the systems were created within the framework of implementation of the “Complex (Consolidated) Safety Upgrade Program for NPP Units” project using credit funds of EBRD/EURATOM.

AKNP-IF is designated to monitor relative physical power, rate (period) of its change and to calculate reactivity of a reactor facility within a control and protection system of a WWER-1000-type reactor.

The aim of the handover-acceptance testing of AKNP-IF was as follows:

  • to define if AKNP-IF meets the requirements of the terms of reference, the design documentation, the normative documents covering this class of products;
  • to assess readiness of AKNP-IF to be supplied.

Based on the results of the handover-acceptance testing, the commission consisting of representatives of ZNPP and PJSC “SRPA “Impulse” stated that the equipment submitted for the testing completely meets the NRS norms, rules and standards, the requirements of the specifications and is ready to be supplied to units 4, 5 of Zaporizhzhya NPP.

SRPA “Impulse” is a leading Ukrainian designer, manufacturer, and supplier of highly-reliable instrumentation and control systems for nuclear power engineering and railways.
