THE SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE SYSTEM IS BEING INSTALLED AT UNIT 3 OF ZAPORIZHZHYA NPP

 During the repair campaign at unit 3 of Zaporizhzhya NPP, the control and indication equipment of the monitoring systems is being replaced by the software and hardware system by Severodonetsk works “Impulse”. The following will be upgraded during the replacement: the equipment and the safety control systems at the second and third safety systems of the unit, as well as the normal operation system of the reactor and turbine divisions.

The new equipment will increase operational reliability of the instrumentation and control system due to use of modern hardware and software that have higher technical and operational capacity. The upgrade will improve technical level of operation of the unit, corporate culture will increase for the personnel that will watch over the new equipment. The new equipment will also increase quality of informational support for the operating and repairing personnel.

«“The new software and hardware system will provide the possibility to receive signals from large quantity of sensors of primary transducers, - says the chief foreman of the thermal instrumentation and control shop Denis Yatsko. – Now, instead of large quantity of different equipment we have one system, within the framework of which unification takes place. The new unified equipment has an important peculiarity - it diagnoses both itself and primary transducers, as well as has an archiving function. If required, an operator can look over any event for any period of time, check how some or other technological parameters behaved, and analyze the situation, which is important to monitor control of technological processes”.

Recently, similar work was done at the fourth unit of the station.
