THE ACCEPTANCE TESTING OF THE INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL SYSTEM OF THE SAFETY CONTROL SYSTEM (ESFAS-3 I&C SYSTEMS) FOR UNIT 5 OF ZAPORIZHZHYA NPP HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT

In February 2019, the acceptance testing of the instrumentation and control system of the second channel of the safety control system (ESFAS-3 I&C systems) for Unit 5 of Zaporizhzhya NPP was carried out at the site of PJSC “SRPA “Impulse”, the system was created within the framework of implementation of the project “Complex (Consolidated) Safety Upgrade Program for NPP Units” using credit funds of EBRD/EURATOM.

ESFAS-3 I&C system is designated to initiate actuation of safety control system, to carry out functions of automatic regulation, to receive information on state of parameters of technological processes with transmission to IVS.

The aim of the acceptance testing of ESFAS-3 I&C system for ZNPP-5 was as follows:

• to define if the systems meet the requirements of the terms of reference;
• to check if the design, operational, and program documentation for the systems meets the requirements of the normative documentation;
• to assess readiness of the systems to be supplied to NPP to be installed and commissioned.

Based on the results of the acceptance testing, the commission consisting of representatives of ZNPP, State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, Skoda JS a.s. (the supplier )and PJSC “SRPA “Impulse” (subcontractor – manufacturer of the equipment) stated that the equipment submitted for the testing and the design, operational and program documentation for ESFAS-3 I&C system for ZNPP-5 meet the requirements of the terms of reference and the normative documentation, the equipment is ready to be supplied to Unit 5 of Zaporizhzhya NPP.
